Apa itu Perusahaan Blackrock?

BlackRock, Inc. adalah perusahaan investasi multinasional Amerika yang berbasis di New York City. Didirikan pada tahun 1988, awalnya sebagai pengelola aset manajemen risiko dan pendapatan tetap, dan BlackRock adalah pengelola aset terbesar di dunia, dengan aset kelolaan senilai US$10 triliun per Januari 2022.

Produk Utama Blackrock

Ada 2 produk utama dari perusahaan BlackRock yaitu ETF dan Alladin. 

Exchange-Traded Fund (ETF) pada dasarnya adalah reksa dana, tapi produk ini diperdagangkan seperti saham-saham yang ada di bursa efek. ETF merupakan penggabungan antara unsur reksa dana dalam hal pengelolaan dana dengan mekanisme saham dalam hal transaksi jual maupun beli. ETF sendiri ternyata hanya dikuasai BlackRock, Vanguard, dan StateStreet saja. Ya, top 3 perusahaan manajemen investasi!

Sedangkan Alladin adalah software manajemen portofolio yang membantu profesional investasi melihat dan mengelola investasi harian. Hal yang belum hype pada zaman kemunculannya

Setelah tau kekuatan dan profil perusahaan BlackRock, lu penasaran nggak si siapa CEOnya?

Jadi CEO dari BlackRock itu adalah Larry Fink, sang penguasa dunia keuangan (julukan dari petinggi Wall Street). 

Tahun 1983, Fink muda bekerja sebagai Bond Trader di First Boston. Karena hebat dan berskill, akhirnya beliau jadi manajer termuda dan jadi trader terprofitable sampai 1986.

Namun 1 tahun sebelum tragedi Black Monday 1987, Fink kehilangan 100 juta dollar. Hilang uang = hilang reputasi dan akhirnya Fink kesulitan mencari uang dan meninggalkan First Boston di tahun 1988

Benih-benih BlackRock muncul adalah ketika Fink bertemu Stephen Allen Schwarzman, CEO Blackstone. Karena percaya dengan Fink, Schwarzman menginvestasikan sebesar 5 juta dollar kepadanya. Singkat cerita terbentuklah BlackRock hingga mampu mengakuisisi perusahaan pesaingnya yaitu Merrill Lynch pada tahun 2006 dan Barclays pada tahun 2009.
